We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at Chez Vieuille. When I first contacted Jane, I remember her saying it was home from home, and she was not wrong. The house had everything you could wish for for a relaxing family holiday. Our two young boys (as well as the adults) enjoyed the pool and the garden space, together with the excellent entertainment facilities in the evenings. It was lovely to relax by the pool in such a tranquil environment. A lovely local French village nearby. The beach in Royan was fantastic and enjoyed by the whole family. I am sure we will return the Chez Vieuille in the future.

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at this beautiful house. There were three generations holidaying together ranging in age from 4 to 64 and there was something for everyone to enjoy. The 2 boys (6yrs and 4 yrs) loved the pool which is a delight and when it was too hot were happy to play on the Xbox in the TV room whilst the adults relaxed outside. The house is equipped with everything you need for your stay with the beds being really comfortable. The directions given to find the house were spot on and (for once) we didn't get lost looking for our holiday destination! There is so much to do around the area that we will, hopefully, be returning very soon.

I had similar reservations to the reviewer from Northampton, in that travelling with two teenage boys to such a rural area might not be ideal. I was also wrong to worry - the villa was absolutely beautiful and we had a wonderful holiday! The location is amazing, the villa is fantastically equipped and the attention to detail makes this a truly luxurious place to stay. The pool is perfect, and being salt water means you don't get that awful chlorine smell - and it is bigger than it looks in the photos. The terrace behind the villa was new, and proved a perfect setting for our evening meals - along with the BBQ and the area set aside for boules!
The bathrooms have recently been refurbished and are to an excellent standard. There is nothing that I can think of that would enhance this villa - it was perfect! I hope that in time we'll visit again. Thank you to Jane the house manager and Jane the owner, you both contributed to making our holiday really special.

We've had a terrific week in this great house - so quiet, comfortable and relaxing and its so well equipped that everything you want is right there.
The pool was lovely - warm enough to enjoy every day - and a pleasure to bask around. And the view from the garden terrace was a joy, especially the constant coming and going of birds. The swallows are also quite keen to use the pool which is great fun to watch, especially their after-dip drying routine on the tv aerial.
A wonderful mix of R&R days doing very little and touring the great sights and country all around.

At first we wondered if we had done the right thing by suggesting to our teenage kids that we should holiday in a remote house in idilic French countryside; peace and quiet; slow pace of life; switch off the mobiles etc....
I can safely say the four of us had a brilliant time. The house is beautifully decorated; has a very well equipped kitchen with pretty much everything you would need for a 1-2 week stay; comfortable reception rooms with WiFi, games consoles and TV should you need them; plenty of outdoor facilities for relaxing and outdoor dining.
The pool is deceptively bigger than the photos suggest and was the focus of much of our days. It is plenty deep enough to allow for diving safely and lazy floating on a lilo.
The surrounding countryside is beautiful; typical French rural agricultural. Local shops are within easy reach and provide enough cheese, bread and wine to keep you happy.
Local coastal resorts up to La Rochelle are definitely worth a visit although we were more than content to spend most of time at the Villa-even with two teenagers.
