We've had a terrific week in this great house - so quiet, comfortable and relaxing and its so well equipped that everything you want is right there.
The pool was lovely - warm enough to enjoy every day - and a pleasure to bask around. And the view from the garden terrace was a joy, especially the constant coming and going of birds. The swallows are also quite keen to use the pool which is great fun to watch, especially their after-dip drying routine on the tv aerial.
A wonderful mix of R&R days doing very little and touring the great sights and country all around.

At first we wondered if we had done the right thing by suggesting to our teenage kids that we should holiday in a remote house in idilic French countryside; peace and quiet; slow pace of life; switch off the mobiles etc....
I can safely say the four of us had a brilliant time. The house is beautifully decorated; has a very well equipped kitchen with pretty much everything you would need for a 1-2 week stay; comfortable reception rooms with WiFi, games consoles and TV should you need them; plenty of outdoor facilities for relaxing and outdoor dining.
The pool is deceptively bigger than the photos suggest and was the focus of much of our days. It is plenty deep enough to allow for diving safely and lazy floating on a lilo.
The surrounding countryside is beautiful; typical French rural agricultural. Local shops are within easy reach and provide enough cheese, bread and wine to keep you happy.
Local coastal resorts up to La Rochelle are definitely worth a visit although we were more than content to spend most of time at the Villa-even with two teenagers.

We had a most enjoyable stay, so much so that we have booked to go again next year.
The house is beautiful and having the pool outside was fantastic, the children didn't want to go home.

We had a lovely relaxing week by the pool in wonderful surroundings. The location is quiet, but within easy reach of local amenities. We had some interesting days out visiting Talmon and La Rochelle. The accommodation is spacious, well appointed and very clean. We will be visiting again.

We had a wonderful time in what can only be described as the perfect location. The house had everything we could have asked for, was well appointed and beautifully kept. The spacious gardens and pool are totally private, where you can watch the wildlife, Hoo Poe birds showing off their crests, swallows performing aerobatics and humming bird moths taking nectar from the lavender, and the views out across the valley are just stunning. The hamlet is close to the Gironde estuary where there are great places to visit, such asTalmont and Meschers - sur - Gironde, where the food, such as Moules Mouclade and the locally caught Maigre, is absolutely brilliant. There isn't anything more you could possibly ask of a holiday home and we can't wait to visit again. Thanks you for making it possible for us to get so close to the unique character and charming people of the Charente Maritime.
